EN Islands is an initiative by UN Environment Programme to help islands nations around the planet sustainably manage hazardous chemicals and waste. After arriving in a wide range of imported products, toxic chemicals pile up in these small islands with no place to go, causing serious damage to health, crops and the biosphere.

The visual identity for Islands is based upon a family of logos for each of its regions: Each triangular motif is composed of an identical arrangement of subtly different elements, pushing the organisations in the same direction, and moving coordinately towards a common goal. The shapes recall migrating birds or shoals of fish, carried away by the wind and the tides. These elements can self-generate a variety of patterns and motifs, but also work in combination with photos, to facilitate ever-expanding brand universe.

ES Islands es una iniciativa del Programa de las Naciones Unidas para el Medio Ambiente. Tiene como objetivo ayudar a las naciones insulares a gestionar productos químicos y desechos tóxicos de manera sostenible. Después de llegar a estas pequeñas islas en productos importados, estas sustancias nocivas se acumulan sin un lugar a donde ir, causando graves daños a la biosfera.

La identidad visual de Islands se basa en una familia de símbolos: El triangulo correspondiente a cada región está compuesto por elementos sutilmente diferentes, diversas organizaciones que se mueven en la misma dirección, avanzando hacia un objetivo común. Las formas sugieren aves migratorias o bancos de peces, arrastrados por el viento y las mareas. Estos elementos sirven para generar una variedad de composiciones, facilitando un universo de marca en constante expansión.
